Candied Yams

2-15 ounce cans OR
3 pounds fresh yams
2/3 stick margarine
2/3 cup brown sugar

If using fresh yams, put in big pot and cover with water.  Boil on high until done, about 40-50 minutes, let cool under cold water then peel and slice. Or you can use canned yams, just drain.
Put the margarine in a microwave safe bowl.  Melt the margarine in the microwave and stir in the brown sugar.  Drain the yams and add to the margarine and sugar and stir carefully to coat the yams in sugar. Microwave for 3-4 minutes on power level 6 until hot.  These can also be cooked in the oven.  Use a pan that is oven safe and bake for 30 minutes.
