Pink Fluff Jell-o Salad

1 or 2 -14 oz. cans fruit cocktail, drained
1 12 ounce package low fat small curd cottage cheese (optional)
1 small package strawberry/banana jell-o                                             
1 small box cool whip

Put fruit cocktail and cottage cheese in bowl and stir in dry jell-o.  Carefully fold in cool whip.  It can be eaten right away but is a little firmer if allowed to chill about an hour.
