Janeanne's Beef Stroganoff

1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 teaspoon dry minced onion or
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 can cream of chicken
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup sour cream
sprinkling of parsley (optional)
2 cups regular cooking white rice (not minute rice)
4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon margarine

Cook rice first.
Add rice to water in a large pot that has a lid and turn on high.  Add a 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon margarine.As soon as water boils turn down to low, cover and cook 15 minutes.  Turn off and let sit, covered until ready to eat.

To make Stroganoff
Brown ground beef with onion.  Drain. Add margarine and flour stir well.  Add soup, salt, pepper and paprika. Cook 10 minutes or until hot on medium-low heat.  Stir in sour cream and cook 3 more minutes.  Sprinkle with parsley.
Serves 4-6 

Serving suggestion: (Pick 2)  green beans, corn, salad, squash and onions (our favorite!) green peas
